Is a 2-inch lift legal on Victorian roads?
A 50mm (2-inch) suspension lift is generally permissible on Victorian roads without an engineer’s certificate, provided it does not adversely affect steering geometry, braking, tyre clearance, or other roadworthy requirements. All Care Automotive fits only kits certified to Australian Design Rules and performs a compliance check after every installation. If your specific vehicle has known compliance issues at 50mm, we will advise you before fitting.
Do I need a Roadworthy Certificate after fitting a lift kit?
In Victoria, a lift kit modification does not automatically require a new Roadworthy Certificate — however, if you are re-registering, selling the vehicle, or your vehicle was defected by police, you will need one. All Care Automotive is a licensed Roadworthy Certificate issuer. We can perform the compliance check and issue the RWC from the same workshop immediately after installation.
How long does a lift kit installation take?
A 2-inch lift on a modern ute typically takes 3–4 hours. A 3–4 inch lift on a larger platform (LandCruiser, Patrol, Pajero) takes 4–6 hours. This includes the post-fitment wheel alignment. We will give you an accurate time estimate when you book.
What lift height should I choose?
